Mercaptan Extraction
- THIOLEX™ (typically coupled with REGEN®) — Caustic extraction of hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon dioxide and mercaptans from gases, LPG and naphthas.
- MERIFINING™ — Caustic extraction of aromatic mercaptans and organic acids from cracked naphthas and cycle oils.
- EXOMER™ — Jointly developed with ExxonMobil Research & Engineering, this technology
can reduce the mercaptan sulfur content of selectively hydrotreated FCC gasoline.
Mercaptan Oxidation
- MERICAT™ — Liquid-liquid contact incorporating caustic, air and catalyst to oxidize mercaptans in light, heavy and full-range cracked naphthas.
- MERICAT™ II — Combination of liquid-liquid and solid-bed contact using caustic, air, catalyst and carbon to oxidize heavy mercaptans in jet fuel and middle distillate streams.
- MERICAT™ J — Liquid-liquid contact without the use of a carbon bed to oxidize mercaptans in middle distillates and gasoline/naphtha.
- MERICAT™ C — Liquid-liquid contact incorporating caustic, air and
catalyst to oxidize mercaptans in crude oil.
Hydrogen Sulfide Extraction
- AMINEX™ — Amine extraction of acid gases and COS from gases and LPG.
- THIOLEX™ — Caustic extraction of hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon dioxide and mercaptans from gases, LPG and naphthas.
Carbon Dioxide Extraction
- AMINEX™ — Amine extraction of acid gases and COS from gases and LPG.
- THIOLEX™ — Caustic extraction of hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon dioxide and mercaptans from gases, LPG and naphthas.
Carbonyl Sulfide Extraction
- AMINEX™ COS — Amine extraction of carbonyl sulfide from gases and LPG.
- THIOLEX™ COS — Amine-catalyzed caustic extraction of carbonyl sulfide gases and LPG.
Naphthenic Acid Extraction
- NAPFINING™ — Caustic extraction of naphthenic acids from jet fuel, kerosene and virgin middle distillates.
- NAPFINING™ HiTAN — Caustic extraction of naphthenic acids from high TAN (> 0.1 mg KOH/g) jet fuel, kerosene and virgin middle distillates.
Impurity Extraction
- AQUAFINING™ — Water extraction of soluble organic and inorganic impurities from gases, LPG, naphthas and middle distillates.
Chloride Extraction
- CHLOREX™ — Alkaline water extraction of hydrogen chloride and ammonium chloride from
reformer gas and liquid product streams.
Ester Extraction
- ESTEREX™ — Sulfuric acid extraction of neutral and acid esters from sulfuric acid alkylation reactor effluent streams.
Sulfur and Nitrogen Extraction
- ACIDEX™ — Acid extraction of sulfur and nitrogen compounds from naphthas and middle distillates.
SPENT CAUSTIC PROCESSES
- REGEN® with Gravity Separation — Catalytic oxidation of mercaptide caustic followed by gravity separation of disulfide oil to permit reuse of the caustic in mercaptan extraction stages without significant DSO back extraction.
- REGEN® with Solvent Wash — Catalytic oxidation of mercaptide caustic followed by solvent washing in a FIBER FILM® Contactor for complete disulfide oil removal in order to reuse the caustic in total sulfur reduction stages without significant DSO back extraction.
- REGEN® ULS — Catalytic oxidation of mercaptide caustic and near-complete DSO removal from the oxidized caustic which in turn allows manufacture of a <5 wppm total S product because DSO back-extraction into the LPG is all but eliminated.
- MERICON™ — Onsite oxidation or neutralization of sulfidic and organic spent caustics to reduce BOD, COD and organics before transfer to waste water treating facilities.
- ECOMERICAT™ — Oxidation of mercaptans in gasoline/naphtha and subsequent neutralization of phenolic caustic using carbon dioxide to reduce phenolic compounds in the neutralized brine.
