MERIFINING™ technology employs the FIBER FILM® Contactor as the mass transfer device and utilizes caustic as the treating reagent to remove aromatic mercaptans and organic acids from cracked naphtha, cycle oil and petrochemical intermediate streams.

MERIFINING™ was Merichem’s first licensed technology in 1974. To date, fifteen (15) unit operating licenses have been granted world-wide. The non-dispersive FIBER FILM® Contactor achieves reduced capital expenditure and less plant space requirements compared to most treating alternatives, making MERIFINING™ the technology-of-choice.
