Product Safety Summaries

Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC is committed to educating the general public on chemicals and products Merichem offers for sale. As part of American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Responsible Care® initiative, Merichem is making available Product Safety Summaries. These documents list the chemical identity, product overview, physical/chemical properties, health information, environmental information, hazard information, exposure potential and risk management activities for high priority products. These documents are available by selecting the appropriate chemical/product listed below. More links will be added as Product Safety Summaries become available for more products.

Prioritization of Chemicals/Products

The selection of high priority chemicals/products is based on:

• Volume of the chemical produced
• Chemicals classified as Hazardous Materials
• Chemicals with testing and/or risk evaluation studies already completed for the purpose of EU REACH compliance
• Chemicals listed as mutagens, teratogens, or carcinogens
• Consideration of end uses of the material, such as likelihood of consumer or non-industrial exposure
• Environmental impact study or from the potential for emissions or exposure.
• Other identified hazard or potential reason for public concern

Product Safety Summaries

The Product Safety Summary is intended to provide a general overview of the chemical substance. The information on the Summary is basic information and is not intended to provide emergency response information, medical information or treatment information. The summary should not be used to provide in-depth safety and health information. In-depth safety and health information can be found on the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the chemical/product. To obtain an MSDS, please e-mail us to submit a request.
