Tornado Activity At Merichem’s Catalyst Plant
The following statement was issued today by Merichem Company:
Tuscaloosa, Alabama: On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, a major tornado outbreak of historic proportions impacted portions of Alabama and surrounding states affecting the Merichem Catalyst Plant operations. While the tornadoes produced severe damage in Tuscaloosa, there appears at this time to be minimum physical damage to the plant; however, the plant is closed until Monday, May 2, 2011 due to power outages.
We are working to contact our employees as well as re-establish power and services at the Location. The safety and well-being of our employees, contractors and neighbors is our first priority.
