Merichem’s Board Names Patrick J. Hickey, Ph.D. as Executive Vice President of Merichem Company and President of Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC

Houston, Texas, February 25, 2009 – The Merichem Company Board of Directors recently announced the promotion of Patrick J. Hickey, Ph.D., to Executive Vice President of Merichem Company and President of Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC. In this role, Dr. Hickey serves as Chief Operating Officer of Merichem’s group of wholly owned businesses. His key responsibilities include leadership of overall operating activities and of the growth initiative of the Companies.

Prior to joining Merichem, Dr. Hickey held research, business development and operations positions with leading international companies. Dr. Hickey joined Merichem in 2005 and most recently served Merichem as Vice President with responsibilities for Research & Engineering, Commercial Development, Intellectual Property and Information Technologies.

Dr. Hickey holds a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering and a Masters of Chemical Engineering degree from Manhattan College and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University.
