Merichem Honored for Outstanding Stewardship in Transportation Safety
On April 13, 2011, Merichem Company received the prestigious Union Pacific Railroad Pinnacle Award for Chemical Transportation Safety. The annual award recognizes the attainment of zero non-accident releases for shipments of regulated hazardous materials throughout 2010.

Merichem recognizes that safety, including chemical transportation safety, is a critical component of its Responsible Care Program®. At its catalyst manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa, AL, all employees maintain strict adherence to proper safety procedures to ensure that human health and the environment are protected and that all products are properly packaged and safely loaded to comply with all domestic and international shipping regulations.
Additionally, Merichem Caustic Services manages approximately 300 railcars and works closely with all suppliers and customers to ensure the prevention of accidents or environmental releases.
