Catalyst Product Manager: REQ #GTP09-0030
MCRS has an immediate need for a Catalyst Product Manager. Product Manager will be responsible for maximizing Gas Technology Products catalyst revenues by developing new sales opportunities for cobalt-based catalysts and associated carbons employed in mercaptan treating. Additionally incumbent will be responsible for optimizing the LO-CAT catalyst product lines regarding pricing, raw material supply, and developing new proprietary catalysts by internal development, licensing and/or joint ventures.
Qualifications Required:
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering
- MBA a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the capacity to communicate with people ranging from a plant operator to a corporate boardroom level.
- 5+ years of catalyst selling experience in the oil and gas industries.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of the sales process
- Strong process engineering background with the proven ability to quickly grasp the fundamentals of diverse markets.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience Required:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong process engineering background preferably in the oil and natural gas industries.
- Proven selling and negotiating skills
- International experience
- Catalyst knowledge a plus
Functional Requirements:
- Oversight of Merichem’s internal and outsourced catalyst production facilities.
- Coordinate companywide activities geared towards developing new uses/markets/opportunities for cobalt-based catalysts/carbons employed in mercaptan treating.
- Coordinate companywide activities geared towards optimizing the LO-CAT catalyst product lines.
- Issue sales proposals (budgetary and firm) for catalyst/carbon product conversions.
- Maximize the sale of cobalt-based catalysts/carbons to Merox licensees
- Identify applications where development of new catalytic products may be beneficial
- Identify areas where MCRS may license a proprietary catalyst for resale.
- Identify areas where MCRS may form joint ventures for catalyst development
- Follow stage gate procedures for all new ventures. Present stage gate results to the MLT.

General Requirements: - Work in Schaumburg, IL (Chicago suburb)
- Travel as required, ~ 25 – 50%, both domestic and international.
