Business Development Manager—GTP
GTP has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager to develop new domestic and international projects for GTP as to achieve or more preferably, exceed GTP’s annual sales and revenue targets.
Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the capacity to communicate with people ranging from a plant operator to a corporate boardroom level.
- Strong process engineering background with an understanding of PFDs, P&ID’s and Valve and Instrument Lists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering
- MBA would be a plus (not required)
- 7–15 years of professional work experience
Requirements
- To maintain proactive communication with existing opportunities in addition to initiating communications to pre-qualify and develop new opportunities.
- Initiate communication with sales opportunities to understand the needs of the customer and to obtain missing information required to provide solutions to the customer’s problems.
- Develop on-going relationships with clients to achieve long term, repetitive sales opportunities.
- Issue equipment sales proposals (budgetary and firm).
- Proactively develop and follow-up with sales opportunities to anticipate the client’s needs and understand their project status and schedule.
- Understand the technical aspects of GTP’s products/services and the industries in which GTP serves.
- Make presentations at various conferences serving the gas processing industries.
- Publish articles pertaining to GTP’s products and services.
Competencies Required
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to lead without direct authority
- Superior people skills, especially with respect to networking
- Proven expertise with capturing, verifying and synthesizing data
- Knowledge of common financial, accounting, and business practices
- Curious and inquisitive
- Knowledge of oil and gas processing technologies
Competencies Desired
- Experience with Stage-Gate development processes
- Knowledge of sulphur removal technologies and technology licensing
General
- Work is in the Schaumburg, IL (Chicago suburb)
- Travel as required, ~25–50%, both domestic and international.
