Process Engineer, Sr.—PTD

This position requires 5–7+ years of experience in chemical/refinery operations and process design experience. Must have a BS in chemical engineering.

Responsibilities include:

1. Working with sales in order to conceptualize a design that will suit the requirement of the client using Merichem proprietary technology;  Candidate must be adept at creative solution development
2. Upon securing the project, the candidate should be prepared to perform calculations via simulation and Merichem proprietary software to finalize the design
3. After freezing the design concept, the candidate should be capable of marking up PFDs and creating a complete material balance.  As well, the candidate would be required to take control of a multi discipline concept meeting to ensure that all relevant parties are in agreement (mechanical, process, technical service, design, etc.)
4. The candidate must be capable of creating PIDs, equipment datasheets, and instrument datasheets.  Frequently, there will be a need to review and incorporate client specifications.  This will require prior experience with specification reviews.
5. The candidate must be capable of relief valve sizing
6. The candidate should have experience reviewing the basic engineering work completed by more junior engineers
7. The candidate must be experienced with interdepartmental cooperation to review the overall design.
8. The candidate must have had sufficient detailed experience to participate in detailed engineering reviews (ie. 3D models, plan and elevations, etc)
9. The candidate must be very detailed oriented
10. The candidate must be able to review equipment and instrument quotes from suppliers to ensure project specifications are included.
11. Proficiency necessary in various computer program applications (Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint).
