Commercial Development Manager—MCRS
Commercial Development Manager will identify business extensions and growth opportunities for Merichem via market research and industry networking. Lead evaluations for projects in early steps of Stage-Gate process including project scoping and business case development. Evaluate project economics and alternatives for capturing value from each opportunity. For new product introductions, helps business units develop go-to-market plans and promotional materials. Excellent communication skills, and a desire and drive to engage customers, service suppliers, management and competitors are essential to the success of this role.
Specific Experience Required:
- Proven experience with establishing industry-wide networks
- Skilled in identifying and capturing market requirements
- Experience working on high impact cross-functional teams
- Experience working with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical
- Experience with statistical reporting and analysis
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering
- MBA would be a plus (not required)
- 7+ years of professional work experience
- 3+ years of business development or sales experience with an industrial or technology company

- Call reports
General Requirements:
- Work in headquarters Houston, TX
- Travel as required, 25–50%
Competencies Required:
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to lead without direct authority
- Superior people skills, especially with respect to networking
- Proven expertise with capturing, verifying and synthesizing data
- Knowledge of common financial, accounting, and business practices
- Curious and inquisitive
- Knowledge of oil and gas processing technologies
Competencies Desired:
- Experience with Stage-Gate development processes
- Knowledge of sulphur removal technologies and technology licensing
